Sometimes you just have to Compromise. Fortunately we were playing with a band of the very name, so it wasn't hard at all.
Great venue, amazing town, cool people, good pairing with another act (named the Compromise if I lost you before), that are truly awesome musicians, has great friends and fans and are just generally salt of the earth types. It was all put together. Nice night. Summer was definitely swinging. We had wrapped tracking on our upcoming album and took the weekend from Nashville to try and get lucky in Kentucky, starting with our third trip to the famous Gerstle's in Louisville.
It's all love in Louisville and it was great to see the boys in the Compromise as well as all the wonderful people who come and rock with us. We've packed the place to the gills the first two times. This time something was off. Things happen. I tend to put the onus on us as we were a little short in spreading the word promotion-ally as our focus was in the studio, but in reality it was just one of those nights.
At least it's summer and I can take my shirt off when I play if it gets too hot.
Special thanks to Joe for being so, umm, in a good mood and Catherine for coming out to break her Laces cherry and for playing the alcohol version of "around the world" at the bar and not missing a beat so to speak.
Big ups to Taylor for just being Taylor and probably the only person that would actually lead me to using the words "big ups"
