Blind Bobs
Dayton, OH

Yep. Dayton, Ohio. Cool spot. This was our first time playing Blind Bob's, but ironically not our first time being there. The first time was when we played another place in Dayton and as superfan Chihn Do was plopping us into a cab, he took us to this exact place. It looked different during the day when we first arrived for dinner.
Of note, internal chuckles were had as Chihn declared in the cab that as musicians we have the right to administer ass to mouth at our behest to women around the globe. But, that was before we spent some time imbibing at Blind Bob's and when done, Chihn took a cab home, promptly threw up in it and then ran off with the cab chasing him. Ahh, memories of youth. No sign of Chihn on this night.
Of particular note, was that Laces super-friend and fellow muser, Steve "the Sleeper" Kimball and his girl Amanda made it out for this show and the next and stayed with us. Both saving our butts when Rikki our van broke down and providing a well needed friendly face on the road, it was damn nice to have them around. Steve is in our Laceball league and love Mike Trout. He is also one of the greatest people on earth.
The show was pretty cool. It was a typical weeknight show, where we played after a local band. There was plenty of people there, but we had to win em over as most probably were there for the allure of getting blinded by Bob. But after song one, like clockwork, we turned some heads and made some new friends. It was a good time and a good night. I drank a lot of water, which makes you feel good. It can be weird knowing you are on your way to bigger and better shows or festivals down the road, but these shows in markets that don't quite know us that well are both important and in the end rewarding. Good stuff.
